I'll overwhelm 'serious boxer' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the pair confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.

Former twice world title holder Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge mismatch - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I plan to damage his features and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

Despite such comments, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually known for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead targeted ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, consistently making massive financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters met for the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast evident, it highlighted just how unlikely this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the fight is truly proceeding.
